Family members, friends, and members of the St. Louis community are mourning the tragic and heartbreaking loss of 15-year-old Norman Hardieway, affectionately known as “Bam,” whose life was taken far too soon in a fatal shooting in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood of St. Louis.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded shortly after 7:30 p.m. on June 24 to reports of a shooting near South Taylor Avenue and Chouteau Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Norman suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel rushed the teenager to a nearby hospital, but despite all efforts to save him, he tragically passed away from his injuries.
Investigators later determined the shooting may have occurred in the rear of the 4500 block of Gibson Avenue before Norman was found in the area of South Taylor and Chouteau Avenue. Authorities continue to work diligently to piece together the events that led to this devastating loss.
At just 15 years old, Norman—lovingly known as “Bam”—is being remembered by those who knew him as a bright young soul whose presence brought energy, joy, and light to those around him.
