63-Year-Old Semi-Truck Driver Killed in Fatal I-64 West Crash

A tragic crash on Interstate 64 West Tuesday evening has claimed the life of a 63-year-old semi-truck driver, according to authorities.

The fatal collision occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on the Dunbar/South Charleston Bridge in the South Charleston area of Kanawha County. Emergency crews responded to the scene following reports of a serious crash involving a semi-truck.

Despite emergency response efforts, the driver was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Officials later confirmed the victim was a resident of Wellsburg, Iowa.

The incident led to the temporary closure of I-64 West as first responders and investigators worked at the scene. The roadway was reopened after authorities completed their initial investigation and cleared the area.
